Low Country Comfort Co. was created December 2017 in the little town of Bailey, North Carolina. The owner, Josh Pearson, was born and raised in North Carolina. Josh is a veteran of the United States Army where he served four years as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Technician. Upon his return from deployment in the summer of 2013, Josh took ownership of the screen print and embroidery company, Image Designs. Josh and his team are passionate about this state and take great pride in the people, the heritage, and their roots.
Low Country Comfort Co. picked up its first sales rep in 2018. The rep was a high school student who would take orders from local businesses, while Josh fulfill these orders. The two quickly determined that they worked very well together. They were able to provide a top-notch quality product to a vast array of people. These customers were very satisfied. Realizing they had a great opportunity; Josh officially named the brand and it began to grow.
While the young sales rep was still in high school, he began to sell hats to his family and friends from the backseat of his truck. Josh was initially producing around 24 hats for Low Country Comfort Co. per month. After word began to spread about the hats, the team approached a local country store and grill about selling them. Being a supporter of local businesses and his community, the owner graciously agreed. His initial order was only one dozen hats. These hats were placed on top of a drink cooler at the front of the store. To his amazement, the hats sold out in less than a week, and just like that, Low Country Comfort Co. had its first retail location.
Shortly after establishing itself at the local country store, retail stores began to contact Low Country Comfort Co. for wholesale purchasing. As the brand began to pick up additional retail locations, the team included t-shirts in the apparel line. The company works closely with a local artist who hand draws each of the original designs. Hat designs have continued to expand with the selection including the most notable agricultural, job related and recreational activities of many southeastern states. It has been extremely important and made top priority, to reflect the backbone of this country, and to pay tribute to the people that keep these states moving.
In a short time, we have been fortunate to work with many wholesale and retail businesses beginning in North Carolina. Quickly, these customers have helped us expand throughout the Southeast. Low Country Comfort Co. is truly blessed to receive such great support from consumers looking unique state apparel reflecting their daily heartbeat. The goal for the brand is to continue to share the love for the Southeast while being open to new states in our near future.
